The Canadian Network on Cuba, in coordination with Cubacan Cares, has launched a campaign to send at least 15,000 desperately needed sutures to Cuba!
A needle and thread are a critical part of every surgical procedure.
Everything from a minor cut to a microscopic procedure, from cesarean births to open heart surgery, all require sutures. Because of the blockade, importing sutures to Cuba can be incredibly difficult and are 3x as expensive, causing a nationwide shortage.
Every suture we send could save a life. Our goal is to provide enough sutures to save lives in every corner of Cuba, with a minimum goal of 15,000 sutures.
You can donate by e-Transfer or by mailing a cheque to the Canadian Network on Cuba. Please note, that both the CNC and Cubacan are not registered charitable organizations and do not issue tax receipts. Below are the instructions to make a donation now!
