2022 Cubacan Kids Project
A global pandemic and 60 years of the US embargo have made life difficult in Cuba. As always, the young suffer the most. We want to help the kids. Our project will focus on 3 areas, basic school supplies for Primary level kids, (kindergarten to grade 6), teaching aids for Special Needs kids and music instruments. Here is a sample of what we are looking for.
Basic school supplies- Everything from pens and pencils to notebooks and paper. A complete list is on our website.
Musical Instruments- Music is an important part of a child’s development, especially in Cuba. Here are just a few suggestions, guitars, electric keyboards, violins, flute, recorders, etc. (No Grand Pianos Please)
Craft supplies– Paint, paper, brushes, etc. Everything a child needs from kindergarten on to develop their imagination and creativity.
Special needs- One of the most important areas. We want things that will help the kids with major challenges. The blind, hearing impaired, autistic, etc. Anything that will help these kids would be appreciated, especially braille machines, which are very rare in Cuba.
Sports equipment- Soccer balls, baseballs/softball, basketballs, etc. Physical development is just as important as their educational needs.
How You Can Help
Basic Schools Supplies- We have a list of desired items on out website. There are several ways to get the items to us, including ordering through Staples.ca who will ship your order to us at no cost.
Cash Donations- Cash will allow us to purchase the most needed items at the best price. And we will shop!
Everything Else- Tell us what you want to donate and where you are, and we will find a way to get it to us.
